Hi, This is Jisuk, Creator of Million Dogs!
If you’re ever looking for something to do with your dog in South Bay, check out my pet boutique booth at the South Coast Botanic Garden’s Dog Walking event! My dog Daisy and I absolutely love spending the day hanging out at our booth and meeting people and all kinds of dogs! Our company Million Dogs is a boutique brand based out of Los Angeles, California, with our main office located in San Pedro. Daisy and I come to the best dog walking event in South Bay every last Sunday of the month!
Let me give you a little background on what you’ll find at our booth. Since 2016, I have been creating unique and comfortable healing cones for dogs and cats. When my family dog had surgery and had to wear one of those rigid, sharp, and uncomfortable plastic cones, I knew I had to do something to help him be more comfortable. I have a background in fashion and design, so I was able to create my first soft healing cone with a little leftover fabric from work. And I could immediately tell that he felt so much better! His behavior was totally different, and he became that happy-go-lucky dog I remembered.
Our cones are incredibly lightweight, soft, and completely comfortable for your pupper or kitty. Your furbaby can still eat, play, and sleep comfortably. And you can, too - no more getting woken up by your dog’s nails scratching at the plastic on its cone or trying to wiggle it off. Our cones are made with high-quality 100% water-resistant polyester fabric for easy washing, and they are built to last.
Another one of our favorite products is our waterproof green leaf play mat. It comes in various colors and can be used as a place for your dog to rest, lay, or play. You can even place its food and water bowls on it. It is easily transportable, so it is perfect for when you are out and about with your dog and want to give them somewhere comfortable to lay down. Maybe you’re visiting friends or checking out a new outdoor café. Bring your green leaf play mat along so your dog can have a place to sit comfortably, too!
At our booth, I sell Million Dogs Merch items for humans, too. Our Million Dogs Merchie line for humans includes items like t-shirts, zip-up fleece jackets, and even fleece sweat shorts and sweatpants! And, of course, our staple tie-dye sweaters! We also sell adorable baseball caps, socks, and hair scrunchies. Oh, and be sure to stop by our good friend’s booth! Sparkle Pet makes locally sourced premium-quality dog treats. It is definitely one of Daisy’s favorite booths to stop by, as you can probably imagine!
Daisy and I absolutely love spending time walking around the Botanic Gardens together. It is situated on 87 acres that have been created into a beautiful oasis with over 2,500 species of plants, flowers, and trees. Bring the kiddos along, too! They’ll love the enchanted dollhouse and bridge along with the secret tunnel and the butterfly garden!
Or play a unique game of hide and seek with art and nature combined! Kids, adults, and dogs alike will all enjoy it. Eight stunning and unique sculptures have been artfully placed throughout the vast gardens. Find all eight to see how nature and art complement each other so beautifully.
Early summer is the perfect time to come to the Botanic Gardens. There is beauty here all year round, but this time of year is extra special when the fruit trees are flowering. The native Californian spring and summer plants are blooming beautifully. There are other areas you can check out, too, like the following:
• The Desert Garden
• The Display Greenhouse
• The Fuchsia Garden
• The Garden for the Senses
• The Japanese Garden/Koi Pond
• The Mediterranean Garden
• The New Rose Garden
*Your dog is welcome just about anywhere! But for safety reasons, the Koi Pond and the New Rose Garden are off-limits to the dogs. Not to worry, though- the rest of the botanic gardens are amazing, too!
You can take your pup for a walk through the desert in the Desert Garden. Here, you will see varieties of cacti, euphorbia, aloes, and stunning succulents from all over the world.
There is also a Banyan Grove to check out with Moreton Bay Fig Trees, where the roots look like they are all entangled and intertwined. Just don’t trip!
Or get out of the sun and heat for a moment and step into the shade of the Fuchsia Garden, where shade clothes are hung overhead to filter the strong California sun to allow shade-seeking plants like fuchsias to survive and thrive.
One of the more unique aspects of the South Coast Botanic Garden is its Garden for the Senses. In this garden, no longer are flowers and plants just for looking only. They have been planted in garden beds raised off the ground so that people can more easily see, touch, and even feel the plants and flowers! Flowers and plants do often have unique textures that go unappreciated as we are just walking by, so it is really special that this garden is dedicated to allowing us to learn more about the plants and the senses.
There is so much to do and see at the South Coast Botanic Garden’s dog walking events! If you are an animal lover like me, you will love seeing all the dogs of different shapes, sizes, and personalities. And no doubt, you and your dog will love exploring everything the gardens offer!
